Just about to board a plane, but my sources telling me JT's agent may or may not be negotiating on a new contract to keep him on the island. NY may or may not have made an offer that JT's camp might have looked at. Supposedly in the range of 3 to eight years, possibly $8 to $12.5 per year depending on years. If said offer was made; JT is considering signing OR might make or has made a counter proposal which NY would have to consider. They could potentially be entertaining a trade before, during or after the season. I've heard from numerous sources that are close to, but not officially related to, that some team or teams that phone calls have been made and offers are to be considered. Something is definitely in the works but it's all behind the scenes and my source(s) are reluctant to disclose more info than they've already given for fear of being accused of tampering. More to come, will update once we've landed.

The Isles can't afford to lose him. He is the only franchise player and superstar they have had in decades. JT91 will get whatever he asks for in the contract and Snow will adjust the rest of the roster accordingly to fit the cap hit.

Then its another 8 years of mediocre hockey for the once great Islanders. Sad really.
